BCN activities are open to all BCN members. There is no limit to the number of activities members may attend. Some activities require sign-ups to accommodate numbers. Activity leaders establish deadlines and provide information via the monthly newsletters available only to BCN members. Information about organized trips is shared in newsletters.
All members are welcome. There are six book clubs each meeting monthly. A “gate keeper” guides a potential member to an open book club or places her name on a waiting list. A new book club will be initiated, when necessary, provided a leader is available. Gatekeeper is Gerri Matosky.
All levels of bowlers are welcome. This group meets on the last Monday of each month at a local bowling alley. The time is noon and the cost is $5 for two games. That fee includes shoe rental. Meeting for breakfast at a local diner at 10 a.m., prior to bowling, is an option. Group leader is Jeanne Dorney.
This group meets on the third Friday of the month at a local restaurant from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. All players must stay for lunch in order for the restaurant to accommodate this activity. Group leader is Judy Enderle.

The Bunco group meets at 9:30 a.m. on the second Monday of the month at members’ homes. At present, this group is filled, but a substitute list is maintained and contacted on a regular basis. A new group can be initiated by anyone interested. Please contact the Activities Chair to be put on a sub-list. Leaders are Ginny Francksen and Maribeth Fryman.
All levels of Canasta players are welcome, as well as anyone wishing to learn the game. This activity gathers on the fourth Tuesday of each month at 1 p.m. and is played in an area library. Individuals may bring their own beverages and light snacks are contributed by players. Group leaders are Judy Hay and Joan Naughton.
This activity meets on the second Wednesday of each month at 10 a.m. in the home of a BCN member, and an instructor leads the activity. There is a cost of $8 to cover materials needed to produce creative cards and gifts. Participants may bring their own brown bag lunch to be enjoyed after card-making. Leader is Nicky Donlen.
All members are welcome. The cinema group meets on the third Wednesday of each month at varying times. For those who wish to participate, lunch at a local restaurant before or after viewing the movie is prearranged. The time of lunch is determined by the movie schedule and/or location. Movie information is not listed in the newsletter. Leader is Kathy Buehler. Contact the Activities Chair for more information.
Members take trips to different places throughout the year. Typically, transportation is coordinated and local restaurants are pre-arranged. Trip information is provided in the newsletter. Leader is Inez Recupido.
Events range from interior design, home decorating, art, architecture, gardens, textile design, and seminars, to designer showcase houses. Carpooling from a central location, public transportation where possible, or a charter bus have been used on trips. Lunch at a restaurant is prearranged and optional. Information is provided in the newsletter. Leaders are Nicky Donlen and Linda Martell-Cha.
Dining Around Town
Single BCN members and couples are welcome. This activity meets on the fourth Saturday evening each month at different area restaurants. The cost of dinner is shared equally while the bar tab is paid individually. Information is shared in the BCN Newsletter. Leaders are Judy Hay and Joan Naughton.
All levels of golfers are welcome and play 9 holes weekly on Wednesdays from spring through fall. Members meet at a local golf club at varying tee times in the morning. Golfers are organized according to the number of players signed up. Leader is Marcia Graumann.
All members who can play Mah Jongg and are willing to host the game during the year are welcome. We follow National Mah Jongg League game rules, and play for a $5 maximum. Mah Jongg meets weekly on Mondays, between 1 p.m. and 4 p.m. The number of tables is at the discretion of that week’s hostess. Leader is Enid Cate.
All members are welcome. The group will meet approximately four times a year to visit museum exhibits in Bucks County, Princeton, Philadelphia and New York. Trip details will be posted in the newsletter prior to scheduled events. Leader is Joan Cavanaugh.
Out to Lunch Bunch
This group meets once a month on the second Tuesday at noon at different local restaurants. Reservations are required by stated date. The food bill is shared equally, any bar tab is paid individually. Information is provided in the BCN newsletter. Leaders are Enid Cate and Judy Hay.
All levels of players are welcome, as well as anyone wishing to learn the game. The number of tables is at the discretion of the hostess. Players bring their own drinks and a snack to share. The group meets on the second Wednesday of the month, 1 p.m., at the home of a BCN member. Leader is Nicky Donlen.

Stitch and Chat
All levels of stitchers are welcome! The group meets on the third Thursday of each month from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. at different members’ homes. Participants may bring any and all needle craft projects. Leader is Nancy Boland.
Trailblazers (Walking at Tyler Park)
All levels of walkers are welcome. The group meets on the first Thursday of each month at 9 a.m. at the Boathouse parking lot at Tyler State Park. The walk is a three-mile “hilly” loop. Members can do all or part of the walk. To participate, contact leaders: Lynn Davis or Louise Melore.
