Activities

BCN has a “No Present-Day Politics Discussions Policy” at all Activities & Events.

All members are welcome to attend any activity or event anytime throughout the year.  There are several activities that have size limitations. To participate, check the Newsletter, monthly calendar and/or contact the activity leader.

Blue Circle Mah Jongg 

All members who want to learn the game of Mah Jongg or want to refresh your Mah Jongg skills and are willing to host the game during the year are welcome. We follow most National Mah Jongg League 13-tile game rules. Blue Circle Mah Jongg meets weekly on Fridays, between 1PM and 4PM. Book Clubs  

There are six book clubs, each meeting monthly on various days, in person or remotely. Members generally take turns hosting and leading the discussions. A different location can be selected, depending on the preferences of a particular book club. A “gate keeper” guides a potential member to an open book club or

Bridge – Luncheon Bridge

Bunco Society  

Bunco is a dice game that is easily mastered. The Bunco group meets on the second Monday of the month at 9:30AM. Members take turns hosting each month. The group is limited to 12 regular members. A sub-list is maintained and is used frequently. A new group can be initiated, provided a leader is available. Canasta  

All levels of Canasta players are welcome, as well as anyone wishing to learn the game. This activity gathers on the third Tuesday of each month at 1PM and is played in an area library. Card-Making

This activity meets on the second Thursday of each month at 10AM. The group meets in the home of a BCN member and has an instructor leading this activity. There is a small fee to cover materials needed to produce creative cards and gifts. Participants may bring their own brown bag lunch to be enjoyed after cardmaking. To participate, contact –

Cinema and Chat

Codenames 

On the fourth Tuesday of each month at 11AM online get ready to play this popular party game. Two teams compete by having the “spymaster” or captain give one-word clues that can point to multiple words on the board. The other players attempt to guess their team’s word(s) and not the words of the opposing team. It’s simple to explain, easy to understand, and fun to play. All levels of golfers are welcome and play nine holes weekly on Wednesdays from spring through fall. Members meet at a local golf club at 9:40AM. Samba (Canasta)  

Samba is an advanced version of Canasta.  All players that are familiar with canasta that would like to learn Samba are welcome.  This group meets every Thursday from 11:30AM to 3PM for lunch at a local grocery store, a player’s home, or a local restaurant.  Play begins at 12PM to 3PM.
